Thank you to the Master and crew of MPV Hirta, who gave Anne Marie, one of our Marine Recruitment Consultants, the full “10 bob tour” of their mighty vessel when it recently docked in Aberdeen. Keith Kendall, Consultant for Marine Scotland, accompanied Anne Marie to the vessel and benefitted from a chance to meet the entire crew onboard to discuss concerns and future personnel requirements.

The visit to the Fishery Patrol vessel proved invaluable in making Anne Marie, the newest member of the team at Genesis, aware of the importance of providing team members who fit in well with the existing crew, so that they add value to the team. Anne Marie was fascinated by how much the ship felt like a “home from home” with their sea family onboard.

Discussions with the crew clarified the role of an MPV and explained how the rank structure onboard promoted efficient and safe operations. Understanding the operational requirements also highlighted the skills needed for personnel we provide to the vessel on a temporary basis, with Anne Marie commenting that “she would now be more confident in searching for and finding the right people for Marine Scotland.”
