Training and Competency Advisor
Our client, an Oil Service organisation based in Dyce, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Training and Comnpete4ncyh Manger to join their team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will offer experience in a similar role along with a CIPD Qualification in Learning and Development (or equivalent). The successful candidate will support the management and delivery of all programmes and initiatives run by the Training and Competency function.
Working collaboratively and proactively with supervisors and managers, the Training and Competency Advisor will provide the tools to allow employees at all levels to do their jobs effectively, maximising their capability in order to deliver business objectives and organisational capacity.
Key duties include:
·Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the training cycle, including training needs analysis and design, delivery, evaluation and review of training
·To be a super user of all HR/Learning Systems and manage these systems
·Facilitate training sessions related to the use of HR/Learning Systems
·Analysis and review of training and competency data
·Involvement in auditing and other client information requests
·Responsible for the provision of accurate data management
·Monitor and act upon concerns and/or training needs identified in staffs competency development plans/appraisal records
·Keep up to date with relevant industry developments and best practices
·Participate in the yearly training needs analysis and liaise with department heads to identify training needs and budget for the forthcoming year
·Liaise with department managers and analyse training needs to develop, design and provide new training programs or modify and improve existing ones
·Have an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages
·Provide guidance and support to the business on different tools available for training and development: mentoring, coaching, on the job, internal/external training, further education
·Taking the lead in projects and initiatives as directed by line manager
·Assist in the development and/or maintenance of competency standards
·Ensure that all mandatory training are being tracked for expiry and rebooked with appropriate look ahead times
·Responsible for ensuring that pre and post-course administration is completed accurately and on time to maintain accuracy of training records: including, creating POs, issuing training joining instruction, filing training certificates and keeping training records up to date
·To monitor and report training and competency Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
·Research and source relevant and cost-effective training providers as required
·Work collaborative with departments to coordinate competency assessments and to ensure expired competency assessments are revalidated in time and all records are kept up to date
·Any ad hoc duties required by the position as necessary
