Our client, an international oil service company, has an opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.
 
Reporting to the Global QHSE Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the further development of the Environmental aspects within the organisation and assist the HSEQ and Operations departments ensuring UK and International operations are in line applicable environmental statutory requirements and relevant licenses and permits.
 
The ideal candidate will have an Environmental Science / Management Degree and an Auditor ISO14001 and proven experience in a similar role.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Environment
 
Key member of function in the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001.
·Engage with the Site Managers in maintaining compliance to site licenses for their respective sites.
·Preparation of applications for new licenses required as operations expand.
·To be a focal point of contact with Environmental regulatory bodies (SEPA, APHA etc).
·Liaise with operations and ensure that wastes received are compliant with site licenses.
·Assist operations in ensuring legislative compliance.
·Reviewing and assessing current environmental practices against current regulations and laws.
·Advise and update operations on forthcoming legislation and its potential impact.
·Assist the Global HSEQ Manager and regional HSE leaders to manage environmental performance in accordance with targets and objectives.
·Establishes and conducts regular risk-based site inspections and audits, in accordance with the QA HSE. System auditor to provide assurance to the business that company processes and procedures are implemented properly and remain fit for purpose, including but not limited to compliance with licences, consents, and waste management.
·Provide support and guidance with the investigations on Environmental incidents and Non-conformances
·Assisting in the production of company procedures, policies and practices in relation to environmental concerns, sustainability efforts and emissions targets.
·Monitoring and measuring of environmental impacts of operations.
·Formulate annual environmental reports of environmental impacts, risks, hazards.
·Develop environmental targets based on environmental reports.
·Provides input on environmental and sustainability matters to bid submissions and tender packages.
·Inputs to emergency response plans.
·Assists in supply chain appraisals / bid reviews, e.g., for approved subcontractors and managed contractors.
·Prepares and maintains Environmental Aspects and Impacts registers, Environmental Management Plans (inc. site waste management), etc.
·Establishes and conducts regular risk-based site inspections and audits to provide assurance to the business that company processes and procedures are implemented properly and remain fit for purpose, including but not limited to compliance with licences, consents, and waste management.
·Assist as a lead for investigations into environmental incidents, including near misses.
·Monitors waste management performance plus water and energy use and emissions and ensures all data is recorded and retained.
·Develops and roll out environmental management awareness campaigns, training, toolbox talks, etc.
·Ensure site water management is planned ahead of operations to prevent pollution.
 
Health and Safety
 
·Generate and provide support for monthly HSEQ KPIs, objectives and targets performance reports.
·Participate in risk assessments, the development of procedures and work instructions, for continual improvement within the IMS, products, processes and services.
·Arranging, coordinating, reporting and follow up of HSEQ actions between departments & external parties.
·Participate in internal HSEQ audits and inspections.
·Assist to develop HSEQ Plans that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as local client requirements.
·Assists to implement and maintain certification of OHSAS 18001.
·Participate within company Emergency Response Team.
 
Quality
 
·Assist in monthly reviews and reports on the status of NCRs and action items.
·Participate/conduct with internal quality audits and following up on non-conformances and corrective actions.
·Assist in the monitoring and measuring of Quality Plans, KPIs, objectives and targets.
·Assists to implement and maintain certification of ISO 9001
